Scholarship Biology

Biology Scholarship is run as a discussion group for those students deeply interested in Biology or further studies in Biology. Taking the scholarship examination is optional and the main focus of the group is to look at recent developments in Biology and discuss. Students are encouraged to bring in articles and information they have come across for analysis. In order to be successful in the Scholarship Assessment students need to cover the content for B3.5 Speciation that is not covered in the regular 3BIOL course. The group works through this by looking at past examinations and relevant examples (often in Aotearoa) so they build the appropriate skills. Those students who have good essay writing skills, problem-solving skills and can apply critical thought will enjoy this challenge. At this stage, these tutorials take place on Wednesday Block 5.
