Scholarship History

Course Description

Teacher in Charge: Mr P. Tucker.

Students that excel in history at L1 and L2 may consider sitting scholarship history. The exam challenges students' analytical skills around a New Zealand-based theme from a booklet of resources and three questions.

Students will be expected to respond to each question by constructing a substantiated argument that synthesises the source material, as well as their own understanding and knowledge, to evaluate the theme.

Students must demonstrate their ability to think critically and demonstrate developed understanding, using historical concepts such as continuity and change and differing perspectives. They will also be required to judge reliability and usefulness factors and evaluate connections between the theme and New Zealand.
