Level 1 Commerce
Course Description
Teacher in Charge: Mrs A. Nelson.
Commerce is a foundational course combining aspects of economic activity, including accounting and business practices. Economic activity shapes the daily lives of all New Zealanders. How we earn and spend has a significant effect on our quality of life, as well as the environment in which we live. All parts of society need to make choices about how to best meet their needs and wants with limited resources. Ākonga will also explore concepts like demand and supply, market analysis and how businesses depend on each other. They will build the skills to understand how major events affect different groups and use models and financial tools to report and analyse the impacts of decisions on society.
