Level 1 English / Mechatronics Integrated

This course is a full-year, Integrated course between Mechatronics and English. Students will work week on/week off in both subjects and will learn how to design, build and program an electronic circuit while building housing for the circuitry from multi-materials. In English, they will complete the same Achievement standards as mainstream English, but there will be a slant towards Mechatronics learnings in these assessments.

No previous experience is required, but it would be helpful if students have soldered and have some interest in Electronics. This course would set students up with the skills and knowledge required to move into Level 2 Mechatronics the following year.

Note: Some of the same achievement standards are taught in Mechatronics, Product Development, Textiles and Food, so check with your teacher if you would like to choose more than two subjects as you can only be awarded the credits once.   Students may have to be pre-approved to do this course.
