Level 1 Drama
Course Description
Explore local stories to develop performance skills, create original theatrical experiences and perform in a class production.
Students will apply knowledge of acting techniques, elements and conventions; and use of dramatic forms. They will work collaboratively and creatively to shape original drama of their own. Drama is reliant on group work, so good attendance is essential. Students will attend some rehearsals in their own time, according to the needs of their group. All students are invited to attend one live performance during the year and are expected to develop a portfolio of practical work as well as a series of their own responses to theatre.
Drama demands a considerable time commitment and therefore an attendance rate of 85% is required. Course costs cover a trip to see live professional theatre.
