Course Description
Teacher in Charge: Mr P. Tucker.
This course is designed to help you delve deeper into history and learn key skills that will help you with university study. You begin by looking at historical controversies and then follow this with a study of the Greenham Common nuclear protests, which proved a watershed moment for the anti-nuclear movement, but also the advancement of women’s rights. Your last internal looks at a prominent kiwi and a controversial event, like votes for women, dawn raids and others like the safe sex campaign of WW1. The external focus is to study how people reacted to the advent of new technologies during the industrial revolution, what caused the Luddites to form and how their actions shaped the class system and growth of worker rights.
