Develop cooking and hygiene skills while designing your own recipe
Kick off your culinary journey by mastering food safety and knife skills, then advance to creating your own unique recipes. The main project is an exciting adventure through the design process: researching innovative ideas, collaborating with stakeholders, and testing and refining concepts. You'll experiment with a variety of ingredients to uncover their properties and potential uses. This course promises an engaging, dynamic experience that will ignite your passion for the culinary arts.
Students need to have a high attendance rate due to constant practical assessments. This course leads into Year 12 Hospitality or Year 12 Food Technology.
Note: This course combines unit standards and achievement standards. The achievement standard is also taught in Textile Technology and Materials Technology. Check with your teacher if you would like to choose these subjects as you can only be awarded the credits once.

Materials and ingredients are included in the course fees. There may be an additional trip cost.
