Course Description

Teacher in Charge: Mrs M. Stewart.

This course aims to develop the ability to communicate in Japanese and deepen awareness of Japanese culture and way of life. Topics covered in the course are; Nice to Meet You, Welcome to NZ, and My Daily Life. Students will participate in a class trip to experience Japanese culture.

Students must be able to read and write confidently in Hiragana and Katakana. Students need to be prepared to receive instruction in Japanese. This course is a prerequisite for Level 2 Japanese.

If you take this course, you will be eligible to apply for the senior Japanese trip to Japan in 2026.
